Other Events Diary – 2020 & 2021

Published May 13, 2020

We are aware that there are many transport related events taking place in our locality and even farther afield which are arranged by other organisations. We are listing details below, in date order, as they may be of interest. Unfortunately, it seems that a number of websites need updating but we have included as much news as we can. Please note, this information is as accurate as possible and that we cannot be responsible for any changes which may take place outside of our knowledge.
This page is regularly updated to cover events in 2020 and beyond (latest update 14/03/20) but, as not all websites are up-to-date,  some dates for this year are not yet available and opening times and entrance prices may, also, be subject to change.

Dean Forest Railway (DFR) – Events in 2020
This heritage railway is located, as it’s name suggests, in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire.  It runs from Lydney Junction to Parkend stations with Norchard being the main station and the home of the museum, shop and new cafe, plus the locomotive restoration shed.
As there are many events on the DFR in 2020, we are not listing them separately but refer you to their website which gives information about the calendar, timetable and special events. There is a link on the website regarding ‘Days Out With Thomas’ and booking tickets for these days.
To reach the DFR at Norchard, near Lydney, use this postcode – GL15 4ET for your SatNav.
Please see the railway’s website for all you need to know.

Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway (GWR) – Events in 2020
The GWR is a steam and diesel heritage railway located in the Cotswolds, running between Broadway and Cheltenham Racecourse stations giving a 28 mile round trip.

Again, we are not listing the events on the GWR in 2020, but ask you to check their website for the full programme, timetables, ticket prices and further information.
The postcode for Toddington station is GL54 5DT for SatNav purposes.

Severn Valley Railway (SVR) – Events in 2020
